Thats what Google is becoming. An image sorter, an email service, and now a map service? Remember when it was just web searching? Me niether. There are rumers that they are working on a browser! What, Gbrowser::The searchable way to browse the web? I don’t know, but their becoming a monopoly. Most people will probably disagree. Tell me in the comments. Before Google buys out Blogger. (Wait, they already did!)

Click Here to see a Firefox “TV” Ad. It was made by Eric Edwards. I think Mozilla needs to do something similar to what they did for the New York Times ad-Hold a fundraiser and a contest for the best ad-to have a short ad on TV. But not on a tech/game oriented channel, one like public TV or something like that.
There was a few flaws with that ad. First of all, the robotic voices and noises are wierd. The visuals are excellent though. They need some background music, and have a better voice doing the commentary. In the end, when the lady says, “Rediscover the Web” the made it sound like there was more to the ad. Also, a typical user needs to know where to find Firefox. It should say to go to getfirefox.com after the logo. And in the classic words of my mom, “What in the entire stinkin’ world is Firefox?” It needs to show what Firefox is. Other than that, good job, Eric.
(Get Firefox if you don’t already have it.)
UPDATE::I found this at digg.com.

Well, It’s Official. After over 1,500 Live Episodes; over 4,500 live calls; many guests; countless audience members; hundreds of staffers, four networks, three owners, and 61/2 years of quality television (and a half a year of bad TV); the hit ZDTV-TechTV-G4techTV-G4 show “The Screen Savers” has ended.
They made the annoucement on Thursday’s live episode of TSS that it would not be cancelled, but changed in it’s format to eliminate all technology and turn it in to a game/pop culture show about the “fun” side of technology. (In other words, fun for a Everquest-addicted-failed-3rd-Grade-4-times 13 year old who doesn’t know who Bill Gates is.) As predicted, they will change the name of TSS to–hold on becouse you won’t believe me–”Attack of the Show“. It was announced Thursday, but I don’t watch TSS any more, so when I saw it on the forums from a G4 Moderater, I thought he was joking. He told me in an email that he wasn’t, but I don’t trust G4. I went to Kevin R.’s blog. Nothing. I went to Sarah L.’s blog. Nothing. And I wanted proof. I thought, if it was a joke, G4 wouldn’t give the name to the people who make the guides of TiVo. I checked my TiVo for Monday, Mar. 28 when it would be premiering, and sure enough, there it was. ATTACK OF THE SHOW.
It was fun while it lasted. We hope, maybe in a far-off distant world (Canada), Rogers will get the copyrights to TSS and do what they did with Call for Help. They worked wonders with it, hopefully they will address the hardcore geeks too. Oh, and get it here in the US, along with CfH. Thanks.
Sincerly, Given Up on Hope, Kevin Dupuy.
Stats on New Show.
Attack of the Show
Premiering Monday MArch 28
7e/4p
G4-Video Gaming Television
(Same cast, as of now.)
Please don’t watch it though.
I’ve just learned that Chi-Lan Lieu of TechTV-G4techTV-and what is now the awful G4’s The Screen Savers (Attack of the Show), has quit her job there. She will be working at Stuff Magazine. I personally think this is a good career move since G4 is losing money, staff, and viewer loyalty since the G4techTV merger.
As Always, No Go G4!
