SuSE is OPEN!
Yes, Novell has opened SUSE LINUX up to the community. Now, through openSUSE, Novell hopes to lure more developers into the SUSE LINUX development, thereby creating “the world’s most usable and best enginnered Linux”. Also, Novell hopes to allow more people to get SUSE easily through downloads at openSUSE’s website, and instead of waiting 3 months after the release date, will release them immedantly, as well as free CD’s given away at Novell and Linux events. Also, SUSE LINUX 10 Beta One is now available here, and Beta two is on the way!Fedora Core 4 Released
While I haven’t used Fedora 4 yet, I hear that it is actually a pretty disappointing release, although good things are supposed to be in store for 5. However, it has many fresh new apps, such as GNOME 2.10, KDE 3.4, OpenOffice.org 2 BETA, Firefox, Evolution, and joining SuSE in including Xen. Here is a link to a review: NewsForge Review
KDE 3.5 Alpha Live CD released.
The brand new alpha release of KLAX Live CD, which is KDE 3.5 Alpha 1 installed on a LiveCD edition of Slackware linux, thereby giving you the chance to test drive KDE’s new features without risking damaging your system. Please note, though, that this is an Alpha release of KDE, meaning it is very early and unstable. So, this live CD is a good thing.
